North East Ladies Day – Charity Funding Criteria

North East Ladies Day is committed to supporting smaller charitable organisations and community groups that make a meaningful difference to people living in the North East of England.

To be considered for funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Local Community Focus: Funding and support will be directed towards smaller charities, voluntary organisations and community groups whose activities directly benefit their local communities.
  • Geographical Area: Beneficiaries must operate within, and provide support to communities in, the North East of England.
  • Annual Income: Applicants must have an annual income of less than £750,000.
  • Operating Costs: Applicants must demonstrate that they operate with low overheads and administrative costs.
  • Employee Remuneration: Applicants must not employ any individual earning more than £60,000 per annum.
  • Exclusion of Running Costs: NELD funding will not be awarded towards rent, business rates, salaries, wages, utilities, administrative expenses, general overheads or other day-to-day operational costs.
  • Donations must be used for specific charitable projects, activities or services that directly benefit the communities and individuals the organisation supports.
  • Individual Sponsorship: NELD does not provide sponsorship or financial assistance to individuals. This includes requests for personal fundraising, individual challenges, expeditions, educational opportunities or other privately organised activities.
  • All funding must be awarded through an eligible charitable organisation or community group for the benefit of the wider community.

These criteria are intended to ensure that the funds raised through North East Ladies Day are directed towards smaller, community-focused organisations where our contributions can make a genuine and tangible difference.
